The yearly event highlight the christmas symbols festival, a competition participated in by barangays and other sectors of the city. The competition also highlights their magnificent welcome arches for every barangay within the entire city.
This year's theme was focused on international destination from as far as Bulgaria to the Opera House of Sydney garbed with local materials and dressed with thousand of lights and illumination.
Jennifer Tan, former Vice Mayor, founder of the event some 24 years ago introduced the symbols to the multitudes of attendees and switched on the lights followed by a fireworks display.
Tangub City is a fourth class city in the province of Misamis Occidental. With a population of less than 60 thousand, the City has been a Christmas destination not only within the neighboring cities but also from different provinces in all of Mindanao.
The Christmas Symbols will illuminate Tangub City until new year and will continue to attract tourist until the end of the christmas season - a tradition that had always been anticipated for the last 24 years!
