Blog ni Inday: a review

I was into bloghopping mode when i stumbled upon a very known text in an infamous yet catchy blog! It was entitled "Blog ni Inday: ang sosyal na katulong".

In a country like ours where most of our citizens professional and non-professionals ventured on some odd jobs outside our boarders, Kasambahay or otherwise known as domestic helpers are considered heroes of this modern times. Gone are the days when teaching is considered the most noble profession. Teachers too work as domestic helpers abroad!

Inday or Hija is a Visayan term for babae (dodong being her counterpart).

Most often, Inday is negatively associated with someone raised from the tropical forest of a far flung philippine barangay. Inday is jokingly associated with someone who could hardly speak Tagalog and could barely understand English. And on top of it, Inday is now synonymous to Kasambahay.

It may sound offensive to note that some Inday is considered as stupid by some elite household whom they were employed. This may trace its root from having no fomal education or none at all. More often than not, almost 85 % of our kasambahays have never been to college due to financial constraints. But being employed as such is already a positive side for not being an add on to the never ending unemployement issue our country is facing today!

Faced with modern trend, globalization and the fast paced cyberworld, Inday made a distinction to her fellowmen and the world that her life too can be as interesting as the rich and famous! She has finally made it to share her life and rants by creating a space in the internet. Her blog is a manifestation that not all kasambahay are illiterate in the cyberworld of blogging!

Her blog shares her daily rants, experiences and household chores stated and scribbled in a way that readers can't help but admire her wits and intelligence! The way she answered her amo's question had been put in a manner of propositions supported by evidence making sure that factual words came out of her mouth! She never had any fallacious statement on her ideas and rants upon Manang and Dodong. Her wits and sattire are extraordinary! She always had a taste of perfection in what she do and take note, her command of the english language is fantastic! You can't even tell that the blogger is Inday!

Needless to say, I would like to commend the author of this blog for his/her exemplary idea of putting Inday's experiences in a sattirical manner! The fangs of this adamant blogger is simply amazing!

I personally thank you for making "Inday: ang sosyal na katulong" a reality! You've changed an image long been discriminated to an image now overly loved!
