Established in 1999, the Buenavista Camating Agrarian Reform Cooperative (Bucarco) is a Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP)-assisted cooperative that is based in Barangay Buenavista, Tudela, Misamis Occidental. Most are members of the indigenous Subanen tribe who were initially into backyard farming and garment-sewing.
The DTI 10 - Misamis Occidental Provincial Office , awarded the Abaca Processing Facility through the Shared Services Facility Program and since then, BUCARCO has been producing woven abaca products.
During the start of the pandemic, BUCARCO shifted into producing woven abaca face mask through the product development program of OTOP Next Gen.
Today, in partnership withOtop Philippines Hub Ozamiz & Mugna Creatives, their Abaca fibers are geared towards recognition in terms of product design that we can call the Pride of Misamis Occidental.
