Empowering Zamboanga del Sur's Creative Industry: A Landmark Event for Artistic Growth

The recent Creative Industry Forum for Zamboanga del Sur served as a groundbreaking platform for collaboration, growth, and empowerment for the province's creative sectors. Attended by tourism officers, representatives from various line agencies, and talented artists from all nine creative domains, the event provided a vibrant space to discuss and implement initiatives aligned with the Republic Act 11904. This momentous gathering aimed to strategize and chart a course for the advancement of the creative industry in Zamboanga de Sur, promising a future filled with opportunities and cultural richness. 

In line with the Republic Act No. 11904 otherwise known as the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act, the Department of Trade & Industry-Zamboanga del Sur organized a Creative Industry Forum & Action Planning Workshop at Bay Plaza Hotel, Pagadian City. The activity garnered an impressive turnout with a total of 61 participants, consisting of esteemed creative stakeholders and representatives from various national government agencies.

During the event, the participants were provided with a comprehensive overview of the diverse and vibrant creative domains. These domains encompassed a wide range of fields, including visual arts, creative services, design, publishing and printed media, performing arts, audiovisual media, and cultural sites. By acquainting the attendees with the distinctive features and nuances of each creative domain, the event aimed to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for the vast array of artistic expressions and cultural endeavors. 

An orientation on Intellectual Property Rights was also conducted in the morning session led by IPO Specialist, Engr. Mohammed Masahud. In the afternoon session, the resource speaker, Mr. Jeffklein Glodove spearheaded the action planning workshop. The participants were grouped according to their creative domain. Initial needs assessment was conducted and each group was able to present their plans and activities in order to boost the creative industry in the province. The Creative Industry Forum definitely showcased DTI's commitment in fostering growth and development in this emerging industry. The future is indeed creative for Zamboanga del Sur.

The Creative Industry Forum succeeded in fostering synergy among different stakeholders. By bringing together tourism officers, government agencies, and artists, it opened avenues for fruitful partnerships.
