Navigating the Philippines: A Journey of Business, Adventure, and Resilience

Our recent travel escapade through the Philippines was nothing short of an exhilarating rollercoaster ride, blending business insights, cultural exploration, and a dash of unexpected twists. From rubbing shoulders with influential business figures to braving extreme weather conditions, our journey was a testament to the country's diversity and our own determination.

July 18: Embracing Business Visionaries

Our journey began with a bang as we found ourselves amidst the movers and shakers of the business world at the MSME Summit held at Manila Hotel on July 18. The event, attended by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), showcased the power of innovation and collaboration in the Philippines' business landscape. It was a captivating experience, hearing firsthand from visionaries who are shaping the country's economic future.

July 20: Innovating Nutrition for All

Just a couple of days later, we were in the midst of another remarkable event – the DOST-FNRI product launching at Dusit Thani Makati on July 20. The Department of Science and Technology - Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI) presented a lineup of revolutionary nutritious food products. These offerings have the potential to redefine the way nutrition is perceived and accessed across the nation. It was a privilege to witness the convergence of science and culinary excellence in a mission to combat malnutrition.

July 21: Adaptation and Exploration

Flexibility became our mantra as we embarked on our journey from Manila to Bacolod on July 21. Initially planning to head to Iloilo, we quickly adapted our plans due to the sky-high ticket prices. Our decision to fly to Bacolod and take a 2-hour ferry to Iloilo allowed us to experience the allure of sea travel and appreciate the stunning coastal views that unfolded before us.

July 22: Unveiling Guimaras' Treasures

The next leg of our adventure took us to Guimaras on July 22, where a world of exploration awaited. From checking on native chicken production to delving into the marvels of a wind farm and the allure of exotic beaches, Guimaras provided a kaleidoscope of experiences. Introducing the delectable Johann's Lechon Baka to the island province was a culinary highlight that showcased the fusion of traditions and flavors.

July 24: Conquering Nature's Challenges

As fate would have it, our travel journey was about to face a real test. Our planned journey from Iloilo to Cebu was derailed by a super typhoon. Undeterred, we embraced the challenge and opted for a 2-hour ferry to Bacolod, followed by a marathon 6-hour bus journey to Dumaguete. Battling the elements, we persisted and eventually found ourselves aboard a massive ship from Malaysia, navigating through the treacherous weather to arrive in Dapitan, Mindanao. This leg of the journey highlighted our resilience and unwavering spirit.

A Tapestry of Adventures

Our Philippines travel adventure was a vivid tapestry woven with threads of business acumen, cultural immersion, and the determination to conquer challenges. The journey encapsulated the convenience of air travel, the thrill of sea voyages, and the endurance required for land exploration. Each twist and turn, each detour and adaptation, added to the depth of our experiences and made the adventure all the more memorable.

As we look back on this whirlwind tour, we're reminded that travel is a holistic experience – one that tests our adaptability, challenges our comfort zones, let us meet interesting and amazing people, and rewards us with memories that last a lifetime.
